The National Botanic Gardens of Ireland
Described as an "oasis of calm and beauty" the gardens are a premier scientific institution and home to large collection of plant species from all over the world. Located in Glasnevin (45 minute bus ride or 25 minutes by taxi), the gardens contain the Nation Herbarium and several historic wrought iron glasshouses. The National Botanic Gardens are noted for holding over 15,000 plant species and cultivars from a variety of habitats from all around the world.
After exploring the gardens and discovering the different plants present, take a seat in The Garden Tearoom for a coffee or tea and enjoy a panoramic view of the gardens.
The National Botanic Gardens are FREE to enter are open daily:
- Weekdays: 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Weekends: 10:00am - 6:00pm
