A must see for the family, Malahide Castle & Gardens, is over 800 years old and have housed the Talbot family for generations. Explore the castle and where they lived as well as the 260 acres of lush parkland that surrounds it.

In the castle you will find ornate furniture, intricate wood panelling, vintage Victorian toys and artwork. You can explore all this at your own leisure or take one of the guided tours and gain a fascinating insight in to the history of one of Ireland's oldest castles and the Talbot family.

There are three main areas to the 260 acre gardens of Malahide Castle. The West Lawn, Walled Garden and the Butterfly House. The West Lawn is 20 acres of grass and woodland with the best views of the castle, rare trees from all over the world and home to a fairy trail, which is considered to be the most "magical" part of any visit to Malahide Castle. The Walled Garden is one of only four in Ireland and has a large collection of flora and fauna, a Victorian conservatory and something new to discover every season. The Butterfly house is a must see for families and young children, house in a Cambridge glasshouse is 20 different species of butterfly, you can even learn more about the life cycles of these amazing pollinators
